Comic Artist Emmi Valve

Emmi Valve is a comic artist from Teijo, Finland, who works on autobiographical comic novels, small magazines and exhibitions. Valve’s work often touches on human themes, such as mental health and sexuality.

Emmi is currently working on a comic novel about school violence and a book and exhibition about love. In her free time, she walks in the forest, swims in the open air, takes a sauna, sews, tends the garden and cooks.

Comic artist Emmi Valve talks about work and life with ADHD and autistic traits in an interview with Orjo Pättiniemi, director of the Neurodiversity Arts Festival. 

The interview will be held at Culture Center Valve’s Paljetti café, and there will be a minizine workshop open to everyone afterwards, for which no advance registration is required. The Oulu Comics Center, located in the premises of the Valve Cultural Center, will be open during the comic-related program, and Emmi Valve’s works will be available for purchase in the comics shop.
